ITP Review

ITP is one of the many options available in the segmented VoIP market today. While it offers hard to beat value for international long distance calling, it is not the best nor the cheapest for local calling purposes.

Buying and Setting Up
Along with all ITP plans, users are provided with a free phone adapter that is basically a plug and play device. It needs to be connected with the internet modem and regular phone line and is good to go. The online call control panel enables further customization of several call features as per user requirements.

Product Features
Anonymous Call Rejection: only answer calls from saved contacts.

Call Forwarding: to alternate number in case original number is busy or unanswered.

Call Waiting: to be aware of another incoming call while on one call.

Caller ID: that identifies the name and number of the incoming caller.

Do Not Disturb: status to re-rout calls when unavailable for taking calls.

Speed Dial: to dial out multiple saved numbers at the touch of one button.

Voicemail: acts as a regular phone’s answering machine.

3-Way Calling: this is great for conference calls.

411 Directory Assistance: for local city information.

Emergency Calling Service: routs your 911 request to the nearest PSAP.

Local Number Portability: keep your old number when you switch to ITP.

Online Account Management: includes call logs and cost register.

Fax Line: optional, at an added cost.

Toll free number: chargeable 800 number owning facility.

International virtual number: allows the ability to own a local number in USA and many other cities around the world.

Call Quality
ITP offers fairly reliable call quality and clear audio reception at both ends of the call. Cases of call dropping and background noise are few and far between, but is largely dependent on the type and quality of internet connection being used.

Call Plans
Great for international calling, not so much for all other phone calling requirements. Lack of binding contract terms is another plus.

Residential Basic Plan: 500 call minutes to US, Canada and Puerto Rico numbers.

Residential Premium Plan: Unlimited calling to USA, Canada and Puerto Rico numbers $19.99 per month.

Home Office Unlimited Plan: 2 phone lines with unlimited calling to USA and Canada at $49.99 per month.

Global Unlimited Plan: Limitless international calling to over 30 countries at $24.99 per month. This is one of the lowest on offer today. Calls to non-stipulated countries entail nominal charges as per rate card published on website.

Customer Service

This is a department where ITP really scores over most other small and mid sized VoIP players. Most users agree that ITP’s customer service is polite and efficient. Technical support staff is also well informed and usually provide query resolutions in very quick turnaround times. There is also an online ticketing system where customers can log complaints and queries. The online information section is detailed enough to be able to solve basic problems without needing to call the toll free support service.

All in all, ITP is recommended for users who need to indulge in heavy duty international calling.
